The Open Charge Point Protocol (OCPP) is an application protocol for communication between EV charging stations and complementary central management systems (CMS).

The protocol was originally developed by Joury de Reuver and Franc Buve and is now managed by the Open Charge Alliance, a non-profit organization based in the Netherlands.

OCPP allows operators to monitor, control, configure, and update charging stations, as well as handle payments and billing. The protocol is open, patent-free, and royalty-free.

Preparation

To connect your OCPP wallbox to our system, you must activate the wallbox's OCPP backend.

Before starting the setup, you must connect your wallbox to the internet and install the latest firmware updates.

Access to the wallbox interface is required to configure the OCPP backend.

When you add the wallbox in our system, your individual OCPP URL will be displayed in the wallbox menu.

You must now enter this link into your wallbox settings. Please refer to your wallbox manual to find where this link should be entered. Please ensure that the name of the wallbox does not contain any spaces " " or underscores "_". Otherwise, the control connection will not function.

Integration

Once you have completed this configuration, it may take up to 10 minutes for your wallbox to register. As soon as the connection to your wallbox is established, it will appear in the dropdown menu under your OCPP URL.

You can now configure the remaining wallbox settings and save your wallbox.

⚠️ To receive the initial status from the wallbox, a charging session must be started.
